This course will provide an exploratory foundation in the design and development of websites and games. Through integrated instructional activities, students will have opportunities to apply employability skills and to research possible career options in the information technology area.

MODULES - 4
Students learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and the processes involved in viewing web pages on the internet. Students create several simple web pages using the CodeHS online editor to gain practice!
This unit introduces students to the theory and practice of user interface design. Students learn about what makes an engaging and accessible user interface and will employ an iterative design process including rapid prototyping and user testing to design and develop their own engaging web pages.
Students learn the basics of game design including the history, potential careers, and game documentation.
In this module, students will learn how to use block coding to make-a-shot game. They will customize different aspects of their program to create a final product that can be shared with family and friends.

It covers 100% of the Georgia Foundations of Interactive Design standards. The CodeHS standards page shows each standard alongside the lesson that covers it, which is what districts usually need for course documentation.
It is the 7th grade course in the Georgia Middle School Computer Science pathway. CodeHS also lists it under the broader Georgia state pathway for grades 6 through 8.
Two things: their own web pages and their own game. Students learn HTML and CSS and go through an iterative design process with prototyping and user testing to build a portfolio website, then learn the basics of game design and build a shot game they can share.
They write HTML and CSS by hand in the CodeHS editor. The game project uses block coding rather than a text-based programming language, so this course is a design and web course rather than a first programming course.
About 33 contact hours, built to run as a quarter-long course.
It follows Georgia Foundations of Computer Programming, the 6th grade course, and leads into Georgia Foundations of Secure Information Systems in 8th grade.
