I realized that during the time I was spending playing video games, I could have been building my dreams. If I played 5 hours of games a week, over the course of a year, I would have wasted 260 hours, which is more than enough time to create a game and follow my passion.
Being able to connect coding to social justice has opened my eyes up to things I did not even know could happen with tech, like algorithmic bias. Knowing of similar topics and making sure I am aware of them, not only makes me a better computer scientist, but a better person.
I enjoy programming because of the endless possibilities of things to create. I can program anywhere and there is always something more that I can learn. I find great satisfaction in solving problems through code.
