AI is changing how schools teach computer science. Our approach is to make sure our usage of AI on CodeHS supports your school and district's learning goals, and gives you control on how it is implemented.
We give teachers control over what can be used in the classroom, and give districts control over making sure AI on CodeHS conforms to their policies. In addition, we make sure to build with appropriate safeguards for school usage, and uphold privacy and security best practices.
Some of our tools help teachers like AI Grading, AI Creator and AskAI. Other tools may be available for students like AI Hints and Vibe Coding, however, any student-facing AI tool requires your teacher to enable it.
While districts have varying approaches to AI: some want to use every tool, and some want to proceed cautiously, you can configure CodeHS to match your school's approach.
