Use Your Texas TEFA Funds for Computer Science Education

TEFA (Texas Education Freedom Accounts) is a state program created by Senate Bill 2 that provides Texas families with funds to customize their child's education. Homeschool families receive $2,000 per student per year to spend on approved educational products and services through the Odyssey marketplace platform. Funds are available starting July 2026.

Yes! CodeHS is an approved vendor on the Odyssey marketplace. Families can purchase CodeHS courses directly through Odyssey using their TEFA funds when funds become available in July 2026.

Yes! CodeHS offers 9 courses that are 100% aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards for technology applications and computer science. We also offer AP courses endorsed by the College Board.

Absolutely. CodeHS courses are designed for self-paced, independent learning. Each course includes video lessons, guided coding exercises, quizzes, and projects. Built-in autograding provides instant feedback so students always know how they're doing.

CodeHS works entirely in a web browser—no downloads or special software required. Any computer, laptop, or tablet with internet access and a modern web browser will work.

Once you have an approved TEFA account, visit the Odyssey marketplace at withodyssey.com, find CodeHS in the marketplace, and purchase a course using your TEFA balance. You will then receive instructions to set up your child’s CodeHS account.
