What is TEFA?

The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program, established by Senate Bill 2 and signed into law in May 2025, provides Texas families with funds to customize their child's education. Homeschool families receive $2,000 per student per year, which can be used for eligible educational products and services—including online courses like CodeHS.

The program is administered by the Texas Comptroller, with the Odyssey platform serving as the marketplace where families browse and purchase approved educational products. Funds are available starting July 2026.
