• Welcome to Inclusion & Identity in CS Course

  This module includes an overview of the Inclusion & Identity in CS Course and the course syllabus. You will also learn how to get help in your PD course, how to use the CodeHS Knowledge Base, and how to connect with other CodeHS educators.

• Understanding Identity

  This module helps educators explore the concept of identity and its role in shaping student experiences and learning outcomes. Through frameworks like racial and ethnic identity development, intersectionality, and discussions on race and oppression, teachers will gain insight into how identity influences engagement and success in computer science. The goal is to foster more inclusive, responsive, and equitable classroom environments.

• Fostering an Inclusive Learning Environment

  This module supports educators in creating inclusive computer science classrooms by addressing implicit bias and promoting equitable teaching practices. Teachers will learn strategies for recognizing and mitigating bias, recruiting diverse students into CS programs, and applying an inclusive learning framework. The focus is on building a classroom culture where all students feel valued and supported.

• Inclusive Learning Practices in CS

  This module equips educators with practical strategies for inclusive teaching in computer science. It highlights culturally responsive pedagogy and instructional approaches that acknowledge and celebrate student diversity. Teachers will learn how to adapt their practices to create more equitable and engaging learning experiences for all students.

• Identity & Inclusion in CS Course Wrap-up

  n this module, we will wrap up the course through a final reflection, workshop survey and certificate of completion.
