This course is aligned to UT standards and is designed to provide computer science instruction for Utah kindergarten students. It is meant to be taught approximately weekly.

UNITS - 10 (38 lessons)
Students explore coding basics without a device, creating step-by-step sequences through movement and games and acting out how events trigger actions.
Students learn to log in and navigate the CodeHop Playground, explore computer basics like input, output, hardware, and software, and apply computational thinking to morning routines.
Students follow Scout the Squirrel through a story-driven adventure, learning to add and modify characters, backgrounds, and pages while building sequences with motion blocks.
Students use motion and event blocks to build animated scenes, explore drawing tools, and add show/hide and grow/shrink effects to their characters.
Students build multi-page programs and use the "go to page" block to navigate between scenes in an interactive story.
Students use speed, sound, and say blocks to bring characters to life, create musical patterns, build a personal "All About Me" program, and practice debugging.
Students use loops to repeat actions and create efficient, repeatable animations.
Students combine sequences, events, and loops to design original interactive games and animated scenes.
Students practice mouse and keyboard skills, learn how networks connect people and devices, and collect and organize simple data.
Students explore real-world examples of AI and create a simple decision tree to understand how AI uses data and rules to make decisions.
