UNITS - 8 (36 lessons)
Students review foundational programming concepts including events, loops, and message events using the CodeHopJr interface.
Students learn how computer components connect and work together, practice responsible technology use, and apply computational thinking to school routines.
Students debug sequences, use the grid and algorithms to move characters, explore a fashion-retail CS career, and build an interactive tap game.
Students use message events to control program flow, model cycles, navigate between pages, examine technology's impact, and introduce variables for scorekeeping.
Students use loops to identify patterns, build and debug timers, animate an original story, and revise work based on peer feedback.
Students apply the design process along with events, loops, and messages to build original games and a data-driven program.
Students learn password safety, responsible digital citizenship, and how to research and present findings.
