    Students get oriented to the CodeHop platform, learn to identify computing system parts and troubleshoot problems, and apply computational thinking to design an obstacle course.

  • Sequences and Events

    Students build sequencing and event skills using animated sprites and backdrops, parallel sequences, and event-driven storytelling, while exploring health and fitness careers and learning to responsibly remix programs.

  • Loops

    Students learn how loops repeat instructions and compare different loop types in projects like a falling-objects animation, while also modeling how data travels across networks.

  • Conditionals and Variables

    Students learn to use if/then conditionals, comparison operators, and functions to control program logic and organize their code.

  • Culmination Project

    Students apply the design thinking process to redesign a tool to make it more accessible to a wider range of users.

  • Digital Literacy

    Students build digital literacy around cyberbullying awareness, managing digital identity, cybersecurity basics, strong passwords, responsible online research, global collaboration, and visualizing survey data, alongside understanding the impacts of technology and file storage.

  • Productivity Software

    Students compare productivity software applications and practice using word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet tools across both Google and Microsoft platforms to organize and present research.
