The Florida Coding Fundamentals course introduces students to key concepts in computing, programming, and data management. They will learn programming basics using Karel, enhance problem-solving skills, and explore system administration, operating systems, and fundamental concepts of the internet. The course also covers cybersecurity, ethical digital communication, steganography, and spreadsheet skills for data analysis.

MODULES - 6
Students learn the basics of programming by giving Karel the Dog commands in a grid world.
Students will learn the value of collaboration and the challenges it presents when working together to solve programming problems.
Students will compare common operating systems (Windows, Linux, OS) and understand the importance of application security. They will investigate security options, implement user accounts for authentication, and demonstrate effective system administration and troubleshooting skills.
Students will explore the fundamental concepts of the internet and its impact on communication and society. They will also learn about network protocols and various strategies used to protect online information.
Students will explore the fascinating world of steganography and its role in data encryption.
Students will learn the basics of spreadsheet operations such as sorting, filtering, and applying formulas like average, median, and mode. They will learn to create visualizations using data, understand data models, and complete a data storytelling project.
