Colorado Policies & Resources

In 2016, the Colorado Department of Education passed House Bill 16-1198 which required the development of high school computer science standards. By April 2018, these academic standards were reviewed and finalized by the State Board of Education. Schools have the option to adopt the Colorado Academic Standards for Computer Science. Learn more here.

Although Computer science is not yet required in Colorado schools, many educators and leaders across the state see the value in computer science and STEM education.
