Overview of PD Events

In-Person Events

CodeHS is excited to offer a variety of in-person events this summer. Events will take place in-person and CodeHS can arrange in-person events at your school for groups of educators. During the 2024-25 school year, in-person events will cover topics from Building a Computer Science to Artificial Intelligence. These workshops will explore topics in depth, and teachers will learn how to use CodeHS tools in the classroom and have time to network.

PD Memberships

Flexible professional development memberships provide teachers year-round access to various PD opportunities to fit their learning needs and schedules.

Coding Bootcamps

Bootcamps are a combination of weekly (mostly optional) meetings and online course work. The approximate time commitment is 3-4 hours per week.

Virtual Workshops

Workshops help educators level up their coding skills and understanding to teach specific courses. Each workshop is designed to equip teachers with the necessary tools and resources needed to bring the discussed content to the classroom.

Praxis CS Exam (5652) Prep Course

The Praxis CS exam prep course is a 14-week cohort model where teachers work through the course simultaneously via the CodeHS platform. The following supports and course materials will be available during the course:

  • Scheduled live lessons and Q&As
  • 1:1 help sessions with a CodeHS PD Specialist
  • Support on all CodeHS coding and free response exercises
  • K-12 computer science teacher networking across Indiana

Computer Science Teaching Methods Courses

This self-paced, online course explores computer science as a discipline. This 50-hour course focuses on pedagogical theory, effective teaching methods, and instructional strategies to support the teaching of computer science in elementary, middle, or high school by encouraging inquiry, creativity, and collaboration.
