Project Description
A shamrock is commonly used as a symbol for Ireland and for St. Patrick’s Day. The word shamrock comes from the Irish seamróg, which means “young clover.” The shamrock was called “seamroy” by the Celts, and some speculate that the Celts considered the three-leafed plant to symbolize the regenerative power of nature. St. Patrick also used the three leaves of the clover as a metaphor for the holy trinity when spreading Christianity across Ireland in the 5th century.
In this project, you will help Karel celebrate St. Patrick’s day by looking for shamrocks! There are three programming challenges for you to complete. Good luck - and who knows, Karel might even find the elusive four leaf clover!
