Roblox Game: Escape Rooms

In this experience, students will practice converting decimal numbers to binary and entering RGB color codes by playing a Roblox learning game. This learning game requires the installation of the Roblox desktop or mobile app and a Roblox account in order to play.

Project Description

In this experience, students will learn about converting between binary and decimal number systems. They also have opportunities to practice using RGB color codes. Videos and select practice exercises are provided for students to learn or review these computer science concepts. Once they’re ready, students can play the Escape Rooms Roblox game as often as they’d like. When students have successfully completed the learning game on Roblox, they’ll reflect on what they’ve learned and answer a few questions about their experience.

  1. Watch the short video to learn about converting between binary and decimal number systems
  2. Practice your binary number conversion skills
  3. Watch a brief video on using RGB color codes
  4. Explore how RGB color codes are used with a quick practice exercise
  5. Play the Roblox game Escape Rooms
  6. Reflect on your experience and answer a few questions

The Game

You’ve gotten lost inside Karel’s castle! Now you must solve a series of puzzles to find your way. Escape the binary room by converting number systems. Then complete the RGB tapestry to unlock the second room and finally escape to explore the rest of Karel’s castle.

This single-player game gives random escape room clues to each player. Solutions are different with each gameplay.
