Project Description
Welcome to the AI on Trial project, designed to offer your students an engaging and immersive exploration of artificial intelligence and its implications for society. Through a simulated courtroom experience, students will delve into the complex ethical considerations and potential benefits of AI technology.
During this project, students will:
- Participate in a courtroom simulation where they will assume various roles, including attorneys, expert witnesses, and jurors.
- Explore different perspectives on AI’s impact on humanity, including its potential benefits and risks.
- Engage in critical thinking and analysis as they present arguments, examine evidence, and deliberate on the ethical implications of AI.
- Reflect on their experience and insights gained from the simulation to deepen their understanding of AI’s role in society.
Note: This is a mostly unplugged activity, with most of the project being completed outside of CodeHS. As teachers facilitating this project, your role is crucial in guiding students through the process and fostering meaningful discussions. We encourage you to provide support and resources as needed, facilitate debriefing sessions, and encourage students to reflect on their learning experiences.
