Test Content Hosting Domains

Below are the domains that CodeHS uses to host and run programs and curriculum content. Use this page to check whether each one loads on your network.

Required Domain

This domain must be unblocked for CodeHS to function properly.

codehs.xyz

This should be unblocked to view content made by the CodeHS team that's embedded throughout the curriculum.

Domain for running HTML programs (choose one)

To run HTML programs in the editor, you need one of the two domains below unblocked — you don't need both. codehs.me is the default. codehs.io is the more secure option: programs are never public and require a login to view, so some schools choose codehs.io even when codehs.me isn't blocked. If codehs.me is blocked on your network, you can request codehs.io instead.

codehs.me (default)

codehs.me is a community space: programs run here can be shared publicly, and your students will also be able to view other users' public codehs.me programs. If you're comfortable with your students sharing and accessing public websites, verify that codehs.me is available to you below.

codehs.io (most secure — available on request)

The more secure, private option for running HTML programs. Programs are never public — a login is required, and by default students can't view each other's work. Request codehs.io to switch to it; once it's enabled you can block codehs.me if you'd like. Some schools prefer codehs.io even when codehs.me isn't blocked.
