CodeHS Response for Coronavirus and Schools Moving to Virtual Learning
With the coronavirus pandemic, right now is a challenging and uncertain time for everyone. We know schools, communities, and families are taking necessary public health safety measures, and many are closing or moving to a virtual learning setup.
Our goal at CodeHS is to help empower and support teachers and students learning computer science. We know you have a host of challenges to handle already with adjustments for schools closing and trying to keep classes going.
Here’s our plan at CodeHS to help you keep your computer science class on track:
- We’ve created a guide on how to use CodeHS for virtual learning. This compiles best practices for how you can use CodeHS to keep your computer science class running in a virtual setup. Access the guide at codehs.com/virtual.
- We are making CodeHS Pro available for free to teachers through June 30th. CodeHS Pro has many progress tracking, grading, and other tools to help you run your class virtually. To activate CodeHS Pro on your account visit our virtual learning guide.
- We are hosting free webinars open to all teachers about how to use CodeHS for virtual learning on Tuesday at 2:30pm CT and 4:30pm CT. This webinar will be recorded and accessible afterwards on our virtual learning guide.
- We’ve created a letter to explain to parents what CodeHS is if students will be working on it from home.
- CodeHS curriculum is still always available for free with over 40 courses you can use with students through our web platform. Students can keep coding on projects at home and you can still monitor their work.
Our team at CodeHS is here to support you and your computer science classes, whether that is virtually or in the classroom. Feel free to respond if you have questions and our team is here to help.
Thanks,
— Jeremy
