Celebrate Pi Day on CodeHS
Try a New Hour of Code Activity to Celebrate Pi Day!
3.14159… It’s almost Pi Day!
To celebrate Pi Day, CodeHS released a new Hour of Code activity for students. The new hour-long activity prompts students to use their knowledge of Java loops and conditional statements to understand the answer to the following question:
“How many digits of Pi does Nasa need to use to calculate orbits for satellites, such as the International Space Station?!”
Who should try this HoC activity?
This hour-long activity is great for students who are enrolled in a first year Java programming class, such as Intro to Java or AP CSA. While some concepts are covered in the activity, students will need to know how to write print statements, create basic loops, and execute conditional statements in Java.
