✨ New AI Courses

Artificial Intelligence has been all the buzz and CodeHS recently launched a way for you to bring it into your classroom in a safe and engaging way. The end of the year is a great time to expose students to new, fun topics they’ll continue thinking about all summer so check out the project catalog and new middle and high school level courses to bring this content to your students.

🏁 Final Exam Options

Looking for a way to allow your students to show off all they’ve learned this year? From the Project Catalog to end-of-course challenges to a final exam, you can test students in the way that fits your teaching style.

  • The Project Catalog has a plethora of options to use with students. To include student choice, allow them to choose their own from a selection of your choosing or have students work in pairs to give them an opportunity to practice their collaboration skills.
  • At the end of most courses, challenge activities can be found. Be sure to read through the accompanying lesson plans for various ideas on how these challenge activities can be used to test your students’ knowledge.
  • An optional final exam can be found in the supplemental materials section of your Python course in the Assessment 2 lesson. This includes both on and offline components to give your students a chance to show off their coding skills in various ways. To access supplemental materials, follow the steps in the help article below.

🔤 Free Summer PD Opportunities

Summer is right around the corner and is a great time to level up your skills and knowledge. We have some amazing Teacher Trainers who will be leading free PD webinars over the next few months, so be sure to take advantage. Whether you’re looking for Python-specific content or want to branch out and see what else we have to offer, there is something for everyone. Check out the long list to get a head start on prep for next year!

Here are a few of our upcoming webinars:

🐍 Python 3.11 Has Arrived

All new Python projects will harness the power of the latest Python version, 3.11! You can now take advantage of all the new functionality that Python version 3.11 has to offer.

Existing student projects in the CodeHS Sandbox will not be impacted by this change. Python 3.11 is now the default so all your future projects will have the improved capabilities.

Python Question of the Day (QOTD)

The Question of the Day is a great resource to use in your classroom. Use it every day as a bell ringer to give students an opportunity to gauge how well they are grasping the content, split students into teams to answer the question, and award prizes to the team with the most correct answers at the end of each month, or use them at the end of a unit as a premade review!

🎓 Student Programs

What are some of the coolest programs your students created this year? This could be an original webpage, app, javascript program -- you name it! We want to hear about them. Share your students' awesome programs to be featured on CodeHS.
