CodeHS’ 2019 CSforALL Commitment Announcement
Computer Science Courses Fully Aligned to State Standards
This week at the 2019 CSforAll Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah, the CodeHS team announced their new CSforALL commitment:
CodeHS will build custom computer science courses aligned to computer science state standards and courses across over 20 states by the start of the 2020 school year to benefit over 50,000 teachers. Each state has a varied set of standards and courses that teachers must teach, which creates lots of additional curriculum prep for teachers. By creating courses that align to state standards and course pathways, teachers can use CodeHS knowing it covers the requirements in their state.
“Teachers often have to piece together different curricular resources to ensure standards coverage, but this can be challenging and intimidating when teachers are new to computer science. We want to provide teachers with a cohesive standards-aligned curriculum, so they can focus on all of the other aspects of teaching students computer science” - Evelyn Hunter, Curriculum Lead at CodeHS
We’ve already started building computer science courses that fully align to state-specific standards! Visit codehs.com/info/state or email hello@codehs.com to learn if CodeHS has courses aligned to your state’s standards today.
