🗣️ Introducing CodeHop
We’re excited to share that CodeHS Elementary has a new name: CodeHop! This change reflects our fun, playful approach to computer science, helping young learners get into coding with confidence.
Don’t worry, the same great lessons, resources, and support are still here, just with a fresh new name and look! We can’t wait for you to hop along with us as we continue to grow the CodeHop experience.

🧩 Self-Paced Lessons
We’re introducing a self-paced option for elementary lessons! You can now enable this feature for a section in the Section settings, allowing students the ability to work independently through a ScratchJr or Scratch lesson at their own pace.
Within students’ video slides, students can build projects in the embedded coding playground and save their work directly in CodeHop. This option gives students more flexibility and differentiation while still tracking their progress.

🛤️ New Pathways
We’ve launched several new state-specific pathways in CodeHop to help you meet state computer science and technology standards with ease. These customized pathways guide students through lessons and activities tailored to your state’s requirements, ensuring alignment without extra planning. More pathways are on the way soon!

⭐️ Course Updates
Several course updates went into effect this summer in preparation for the 25-26 school year!
Our K-5 courses are updated with lesson improvements and additional digital literacy lessons. See the specific changes to each grade level and lesson in the Updates Changelog. New K-5 CS courses are now available to assign to class sections!
🗂️ Archiving Sections
Your 2024–25 sections will be archived to make way for your 2025–26 classes. Students will shift to their new sections, but you’ll always be able to access their work from previous years. To view past work, go into the archived section and click on a lesson from the Progress tab.

💻 Typing
Typing is coming soon this year! Typing will be a fully integrated, standards-aligned keyboarding curriculum designed to help students become confident and proficient in their typing skills.
Typing will include self-paced lessons, real-time feedback, and gamified achievements. You will be able to monitor words per minute, accuracy, and progress, as well as set custom goals and print reports.
This will be available as an add-on to your plan.
