✏️ AP CSA Project of the Month
This month's featured project is Code Verification. Code Verification puts students in a hypothetical situation where they are in charge of cybersecurity for their company. The company has decided to provide employees with a code generator that they will use with their password to help verify logging in, but something is off. Students will use loops, conditional statements, and string methods to help solve this problem.
The CodeHS Project Catalog includes beginner-level projects that may take an hour or less to complete and more challenging projects that could take several weeks. Projects are designed to challenge students on skills they have already learned.
❓ AP CSA Question of the Day
As you're preparing for your next lesson, don’t forget to check out the CodeHS AP CSA Question of the Day (QOTD)!
CodeHS releases a new multiple-choice question each day that aligns with where you and your students should be in the AP CSA course.
Teaching other courses? Check out the Question of the Day for AP CSP, Python, and JavaScript!
🗳️ College Board Deadlines
There are two important deadlines coming up from the College Board. Students must order their exams by November 15th to avoid the late registration fee, unless you are teaching the class in the second semester. Be sure to check with your school's AP Coordinator so that students can register on time.
The deadline to submit your course syllabus to the College Board is January 31st, 2024 and the earlier you submit the better! This is especially important for new AP CSA teachers since you may not have access to resources such as AP Classroom until after your audit is completed.
If you are using one of our courses, you can select the course from the endorsed provider list. By selecting the CodeHS course, it will automatically use the CodeHS approved syllabus for that course.
💻 AP Exam Goes Digital
This year, students will complete the multiple choice and free-response questions in the Bluebook app. All of the practice exams and free response practice questions in CodeHS are meant to be completed digitally, so students will have plenty of practice typing their responses!
Additionally, the College Board has a few resources to help prepare for this transition:
