New CodeHS Artificial Intelligence Curriculum and PD Brings AI Literacy to K-12 Schools
CodeHS has developed new curriculum and professional development to help educators integrate AI topics into their schools
AI literacy is quickly becoming an essential skill for students. By exposing them to AI tools and concepts in the classroom, students can learn to responsibly and effectively use AI. With the launch of new AI Curriculum and Professional Development, CodeHS is equipping educators with the tools they need to use AI tools and introduce AI concepts to their students.
The new CodeHS AI curriculum is designed to introduce students of all coding levels to Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence may seem like magic to students, but it really is just a set of programs and algorithms that students can learn about and use!
Artificial Intelligence Curriculum
This new CodeHS curriculum includes new projects for Kindergarten through 12th grade, and courses for middle and high school.
CodeHS AI Courses
These new courses introduce students to fundamental AI concepts. These courses are free for all teachers to use.

They’ll learn to write effective prompts, use AI for content generation, and build a simple machine learning model, gaining insight into common AI tools and their limitations.
Introduction to AI for High School: In this 25-hour course, students will explore key aspects of Artificial Intelligence, including machine learning, large language models, bias in models, and their societal impacts. They will engage with various AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Teachable Machine.
Applications of AI and Machine Learning: In this 20-hour course, students learn to use data for machine learning and create various Artificial Intelligence (AI) models using TensorFlow and Python. Through hands-on experience, they practice training and adjusting models to understand their impact on model output.
