K-12 Computer Science Framework a step forward in #CSforAll

Earlier this year, President Obama announced his “Computer Science for All” Initiative, which called for every student to have the opportunity to learn Computer Science in school. Today, this initiative takes a step further with the launch of the K-12 Computer Science Framework.

This framework is announced by the ACM, Code.org, CSTA, CIC, and NMSI and is intended to support the creation of standards, curriculum, and computer science pathways in K-12 education.

CodeHS is proud to support this significant milestone for computer science education in the United States. We believe that computer science is a foundational skill that all students should have access to in preparation for the looming expectations of the 21st century. The K-12 framework promotes a vision in which all students critically engage in computer science issues, approach problems in innovative ways, and examine the applications of computer science in their context.
