🍁 Seasonal Projects
Check out the growing list of projects in the Project Catalog! Whether used as a mid-year check, a fun pause from the content before the holiday break, or a way to explore new concepts, these projects will surely be a welcome change for your students at the end of the semester.
If you’re unsure about where to start, we recommend the following projects:
🎨 Supplemental: Python Graphics
In the Supplemental material for the Intro to Python course, you can find two Python Graphics modules, one using Brython and the other using Tkinter, that teach students how to create images in Python in different ways.
Both modules cover the same content with similar exercises, so consider splitting the class to test both. A final discussion on the pros and cons of each option helps students synthesize process differences. These modules are ideal after completing the Turtle Graphics module.
🌐 Framework Highlight: PyScript
PyScript is a framework that lets you run Python directly in the browser using simple HTML-like tags. It combines Python with web technologies, allowing Python code to execute where JavaScript typically runs, making it easy to create interactive web apps with Python.
📝 Interactive Tutorials
Tutorials are a great way to brush up on a concept or fill in a gap for content that may not be taught in one of the main courses. Each tutorial is organized around a small concept and typically takes between 10 and 30 minutes to work through.
These tutorials are free and easy to share!
