CodeHS 2017 CS Ed Week Announcement and Pledge Update — All The Projects Launched!
Code Oregon Launch, Expo Partnership, In-Person PD Workshops, Quiz Question Bank and New Cybersecurity Course!
During the 2017 CS Ed Week, the CodeHS team made a new announcement and pledge to K-12 computer science education.
CodeHS 2017 CS Ed Week Announcement:
CodeHS has partnered with Expo to allow students to build multi-platform native mobile apps in JavaScript in the browser with React Native. CodeHS has also launched a quiz bank to give teachers access to thousands of community generated coding quiz questions.
CodeHS 2017 CS Ed Week Pledge:
By Fall 2018, CodeHS will launch a cyber security course for high schools and online professional development. CodeHS is launching Code Oregon, an initiative to bring computer science to districts in Oregon. CodeHS will host free in-person PD sessions in 5 regions around the US in summer 2018.

- CodeHS Partnership with Expo & React Native: Students can build, test, and share their own mobile apps on CodeHS through Expo and React Native. Learn more.

- New Cybersecurity Course: CodeHS launched the first online blended Introduction to Cybersecurity course for high school! The course covers topics such as Cyber Hygiene and Digital Citizenship. Learn more about the Cybersecurity course here: codehs.com/info/curriculum/cybersecurity
- Code Oregon: CodeHS launched Code Oregon to expand high-quality computer science across Oregon school districts. As part of this new initiative, CodeHS committed to offering CodeHS Pro and professional development to 7 school districts in Oregon for free during the 2018–2019 and 2019–2020 school years. - Free In-Person Professional Development Workshops: During the summer of 2018, CodeHS hosted 5 regional PD workshops around the country from New York to Portland for more than 100 computer science teachers.
