AP Cybersecurity Course, PD Cohort, and New Cyber Range!

The CodeHS team is expanding our cybersecurity offerings to better support teachers and students, including our new AP Cybersecurity course from College Board’s AP Career Kickstart program. CodeHS has everything you need to successfully teach this course in the fall and offers professional development and a new Cyber Range.

AP Cybersecurity Course

CodeHS is launching AP Cybersecurity in July for the 2026-27 school year. This course is aligned to the new AP Career Kickstart Cybersecurity course. A preview of the curriculum is available now for educators interested in early access.

AP Cybersecurity Teaching Cohort

In addition to the new course, we’re also running an AP Cybersecurity professional development teaching cohort next school year, designed to support teachers as they implement and teach the course with confidence. We recommend teachers join the cohort, as it will be an important resource for navigating the course’s challenging content. Some topics from the course that we'll cover are:

• Common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risk

• Defense-in-depth strategies across systems and environments

• Real-world cybersecurity impacts with hands-on, scenario-based learning

CodeHS Cyber Range

The CodeHS Cyber Range provides a structured environment where students tackle guided challenges, use real Linux commands, and explore cybersecurity topics in a sandbox environment from cryptography to web security to networking and more. The Cyber Range is an add-on to Pro that provides hands-on practice aligned to the AP Cybersecurity course and will be released later in the year.
