We are excited to share the latest updates to our AP Computer Science Principles courses. These changes are based on valuable feedback that we’ve received from users of our AP CSP courses and our commitment to keeping the course content relevant and engaging for students. Below is an overview of the changes that have been made, effective August 2nd.

Overview of the updated material

  • Exam and Create Task Updates: In Fall 2023, we released supplemental content in our AP CSP courses to address the updates the College Board made to the Create Performance Task and Exam format. This material, which was offered as supplemental, is now integrated directly into the courses. You’ll find that the Create Performance Task module now reflects these changes and is available in all four AP CSP courses.
  • Practice Create Task Updates: We’ve improved the Practice Create Task modules by providing clearer instructions and additional scaffolding. Additionally, we have included the latest resources from the College Board to ensure your students have the most up-to-date information.
  • Statistics and Relevance Updates: Staying current is essential in the world of computer science. We have updated articles and videos throughout the curriculum that introduce students to concepts like the internet, data, and cybersecurity. These updates ensure that the information your students are learning is both accurate and reflective of the latest trends and technologies in the field.

We encourage all users of our CSP curriculum to access the latest version of our AP CSP courses. To ensure you have the most up-to-date content, please start your course sections from the latest version in the CodeHS course catalog. Simply search for AP Computer Science Principles and then choose “Add to Courses”. The AP CSP Cybersecurity course has more significant updates to highlight more current examples and explanations of cybersecurity concepts. Thank you for your dedication to teaching AP Computer Science Principles. We are excited to see the positive impact these updates will have in your classrooms.
