Schools Recognized Nationwide For Closing the Gender Gap in Computer Science Education

Congratulations to the schools who achieved the College Board’s 2018 AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award!

The College Board AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award is awarded to schools who are making great strides in closing the gender gap in computer science education. Schools who are recognized for this award engage more females students in AP computer science courses — reaching at least 50% female representation in either AP CS course (or having the percentage of female examinees exceed the school’s female population).

In 2018, only 685 schools achieved this recognition out of over 18,000 secondary schools in the United States. You can view the full list of recognized schools here.

At CodeHS, we’d like to say “Congratulations!” to all the schools that received College Board’s AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award! This is an incredible accomplishment as we work collectively to diversify the STEM community and introduce more females to computer science.
