#### Access over 20 free Hour of Code tutorials on CodeHS!

This year for Computer Science Education Week, we are showcasing how coding can be used to make a positive change in the world from cleaning up litter in communities to supporting artists.

All CodeHS curriculum and hour-long tutorials are available for free. You can access over 20 tutorials and lesson plans at [codehs.com/hoc](http://codehs.com/hoc).

### Coding for a Litter-Free Community

In this Hour of Code tutorial, students will explore how coding can be used to minimize litter and waste.

Students start by hearing from Elena Guberman, [Rubbish](https://www.rubbish.love/) CEO, and exploring real world examples of how engineers are using computer programming to reduce the amount of litter in their community. Then, they continue to learn the basics of Python by giving commands to Karel to pick up litter in her community. After the Hour of Code, students will have option to continue learning to code by completing the Web Design adventure where they create their own webpage using HTML!

### Coding with Data Visualizations

Coding with Data Visualizations is an hour-long coding lesson that teaches students about the power of using data visualizations to display data in meaningful and easy to understand ways.

At the start of the workshop, students will hear from Blair Hutchinson, a Product Manager at Tableau, who uses code to help clients better understand their data. During the workshop, students will learn about several types of data visualizations and how they can be used to represent data, as well as practice creating them using a JavaScript library.

### Supporting Artists with Code

This Hour of Code tutorial begins with an overview of how coding has impacted the art community by providing real-world examples.

In the final lesson, _Code an Online Shop_, learners are given a real-world coding assignment that will reinforce what they’ve covered in the previous lesson. Using the fundamentals of HTML, learners will have the opportunity to create an online shop mockup to help artists in their community showcase and sell their work.
