### Meet a Tutor: Eric Kong

**Eric Kong**

Computer Science student at UCSD

**Tell us about yourself…**

I’m a second year CS major at UCSD. I love playing and watching basketball, video games and hanging out with my friends. I also enjoy helping others with their CS work.

**How did you get into coding?**

I started in high school, where I learned Karel and AP Java in my senior year. I’ve loved programming ever since!

**Do you have a favorite program that you’ve worked on so far?**

Making Tetris and Minesweeper from scratch! It was difficult but super rewarding when I was done.

**Any fun (or funny) facts about you?**

I say that I like cherry pie, but I’ve never actually had cherry pie before.

**Words of advice for the next generation of coders?**

Let your creativity take you over when you code. Make it as fun as possible when you write programs. Trust me, it doesn’t have to be boring or frustrating!
