Day 1 // 4/6/2015 // San Francisco, CA -> Bakersfield, CA
We’re going around on a two month road trip around the US to help bring coding education to schools— follow along!
I want to invite you to come on an adventure with us. A computer science education adventure. We’re coming from the future and we’re helping to bring it to a school near you. The future will be written in code and is made up of bits and if you don’t know it you can learn it and if you’re not teaching it to your students you should be.
However, today, computer science education is not accessible or available to most students. We’re going around the country to meet with schools and districts to run workshops and learn about what computer science education looks like, and help bring it to places that don’t have it.
In the San Francisco bay area, software is bringing opportunities unheard of in any other place in the country — and really the world — to those who understand how it all works.
You can learn how it works. You. Your students. Your school.
Follow along with us. Pick your method: we’ll be on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and Tumblr and Medium and Periscope and Snapchat. We promise to make it fun.
We hope you can get excited about computer science education and the problem solving, the creativity, and the opportunity it can open for your school and your students.
Today we left San Francisco and headed to Bakersfield. We have lots of school visits set up this week and are excited to get going! We hopped into our pink #ReadWriteCode van with Karel the Dog and headed down south.
