## ☀️ Website Light and Dark Theme

In the [Website Light and Dark Theme](https://codehs.com/app/project_info/project/18068) project, students build a web page that lets users choose between two different themes—a light and dark theme—or choose to apply their system theme preference. JavaScript code has been provided, and students use HTML and CSS to create their custom light/dark mode color palettes and styles.

## 🔗 Using External Links in HTML Programs

If your Web Design students are using external links in their HTML programs, you may notice those links don’t always work as expected within the CodeHS editor.

The editor runs HTML files in an iframe, which some external websites block for security reasons. To properly test and navigate to external sites, students will need to open their program in a new browser tab. They can do this by clicking the Pop Out icon next to the address bar in the output window.

This help article, [Using External Links in HTML Programs](https://help.codehs.com/en/articles/6604920-using-external-links-in-html-programs), provides a quick explanation and step-by-step guidance. It’s a great resource to share with students when they’re troubleshooting link behavior in their projects.

## 🌟 NEW FEATURE: Parsons Problems

In the [Practice App](https://codehs.com/practice), parsons problems are now available for students to work through. Teachers can also add them as extra practice in their courses. Parsons problems are coding exercises where students are given scrambled code snippets that they must reorder and, in some cases, properly indent to form a functional program or code segment.
