CodeHS Teachers Continued to Report Higher Pass Rates and Scores Compared to Nationwide Results
As part of our continuous effort to improve AP Computer Science instruction, we sent out a survey to AP teachers who use CodeHS, asking them to share student performance data on the 2025 AP exams. We asked teachers about pass rates, resource usage, and feedback on our AP courses. We had a total of 126 teachers respond to the survey, and have outlined the feedback from the survey below.
AP Computer Science A (CSA) Performance Overview
We had 59 AP CSA teachers respond to the survey. Of the teachers who responded, their students outperformed the national average by 11%. Here’s how the distribution of scores breaks down:
The overall national pass rate for AP CSA this year was 67%, with 47% of all students receiving a 4 or 5 on the exam. In comparison, the CodeHS teachers who responded to our survey reported a passing rate of 78%, with 57% of reported students receiving a 4 or 5 on the exam.
AP Computer Science Principles (CSP) Performance Overview
We had a total of 87 AP Computer Science Principles teachers respond to the survey. The results from AP CSP exams also reflect positive outcomes for the students using CodeHS.
