We’re excited to share an early preview of our upcoming Advanced Python and AI Programming course! This preview lets you explore the course structure and see what students will experience as they progress through the material. The preview includes the full first unit of the course and select lessons from each of the major topics that will be covered: Object Oriented Programming, Python Libraries, Data Structures, Algorithms, and AI. If you join the preview section, you'll have the ability to leave us feedback on what's working well and what you'd like to see next.

Please note: Because the course is still a work in progress, this preview is intended for teachers only, and students should not join this section.

👾 Python Library Spotlight: Pygame

Pygame is a multimedia development library and can be used to make 2D games! This is a great library for students interested in game development or students looking for an extra challenge. Check out this interactive example. You can make your own Pygame program in the CodeHS sandbox by selecting ‘Pygame’ as the program type. Explore our Pygame tutorial project for an introduction and the official Pygame Documentation to learn more.

👥 New Feature: Student Groups

Student Groups give teachers a flexible way to organize students within a section into learning groups. Teachers can create, rename, and manage groups, add or remove students, and view group details all in one place. Once groups are set up, teachers can filter by group across key tools like the Gradebook, Progress, Code Review, Quiz Scores, and more. This new feature is a CodeHS Pro Tool.

🧠 AI Curriculum

CodeHS has AI courses and dozens of AI projects you can plug into your existing curriculum! By introducing AI in computer science classrooms you can prepare students for a technology driven world and students can learn that what may seem like magic is actually just programs and algorithms!
