We love using projects from the CodeHS Project Catalog to throw some seasonal fun into our courses. Here are a few JavaScript projects that are perfect to implement in your classroom this spring.

## **🤔 Spring Extension Ideas**

In the last newsletter, we shared a few different tutorials – like [Strings](https://codehs.com/tutorial/ryan/working-with-strings-in-javascript), [Arrays](https://codehs.com/tutorial/rachel/arrays-in-javascript), [Objects](https://codehs.com/tutorial/ryan/basic-objects-in-javascript), and [Game Development](https://codehs.com/tutorial/ryan/introduction-to-interactive-program-and-game-development) – that would be a great way to challenge hungry students. Now that they're nearing the end of their year in JavaScript, some may be wondering how to use it in its natural environment, the internet browser. Consider assigning them a few lessons from the first module in our [Web Development](https://codehs.com/course/web_development/overview) course, which show students how to apply JavaScript to an HTML page with the script tag. _Note: Some knowledge of HTML, or a willingness to learn, is encouraged._

## **✏️ Teaching Resource: Assessment Options**

Looking for a way to wrap up the school year? There are multiple available options in our JavaScript courses, depending on interest and time availability -- culminating games like Break Out or Helicopter, a Final Exam with online multiple choice questions and offline free response questions, and the Final Project that has students imagine and develop their own program. Of course you could also assign something from our Project Catalog as well! Any combination of these options provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in JavaScript.
